Choreographer, Bolshoi Certified Ballet and Character Teacher, Mat and Reformer Pilates Instructor
Jessica Novakovich is an award-winning freelance choreographer, ballet teacher, Pilates instructor and dancer. She is a graduate of the prestigious Akhmedova Ballet Academy under the tutelage of Mme Jacqueline Akhmedova. She developed experience performing both classical and contemporary ballets at Manassas Ballet Theatre. Jessica is an award winning choreographer for solo, duet, trio and ensembles in both character and contemporary styles. With numerous “Best Choreographer” and “Best Choreography awards” along with numerous awards for commissioned pieces Jessica strives to create individual, personal and innovative works for each dancer she works with.
She integrates the aesthetics and beauty of neoclassical ballet into her work, reimagining it with an innovative vision. Striving to explore new dimensions, she experiments with form and concepts, employing modern theatrical techniques combined with the classical ballet foundations, neoclassicism, contemporary style, character style, and elements of dramatic theater, emphasizing the power of acting and the soul in her choreography.
Continuing to share her choreographic work, Jessica Novakovich has authored three original contemporary ballet’s, created many solos, duos trios and ensembles. She has had the honor of being invited by the World Ballet Arts Grand Prix to choreograph the Gala Ensemble piece for the Niagara Falls Grand Prix Finals, uniting more than 80 dancers together in one project.
Jessica is a Bolshoi Certified Ballet and Character instructor teaching the purity of the Vaganova Ballet Method. Previously she taught at the esteemed Akhmedova Ballet Academy for over 5 years where she gained her certification and studied the important details and nuances it takes to be a Vaganova teacher. She is also a Mat and Reformer Certified Instructor using her knowledge to teach both dancers and athletes.
